Activate Windows from Germany

Does anyone know, why I can't activate windows from Germany ? If I try to
use phone dialing, he begins to dial a number 8006.... This is a number in
my city, and no microsoft server.

I tried to activate it via internet. But "online activation cannot be
completed at this time"...

Have you tried to activate by telephone?

That will give you a phone number to call, and they in turn a code to
activate your copy of XP. It should be a free call from your country. I
can't confirm that, as I'm in the US.

Have you set up an ISP yet? You should also be able to register via the
internet.

Hi Florian,

activation from Germany should work. It did here.

As for the activation via internet:

- Have you set up a default connection to the internet yet?
- Is that connection / the network adapter (ISDN card, modem etc.) working
correctly?

If yes, try connecting to the internet first before starting activation.
