When trying to update I get above error code with message
I should accept the certificate. I never get the chance to
accept the certificate as the error message is the first
screen I get.
I tried all suggestions at the online Help . Didn´t work.
Any Ideas would be highly appreciated.

I have gone to that website, and done everythign listed
and STILL have the exact same problem. I can also not
install the newest version of DirectX. It says that this
product has not passed windows logo testing. Someone
please tell me what's wrong!!

Hi Daniel,

Try the following:

Link to:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/

Try the steps under:
When installing an update you receive the following message: "Software you
are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing"

As for the 0x800B0004 error message, I noticed the
site:http://www.updatexp.com/0x800B0004.html is missing MSSIP32.DLL.
Please also verify the file is registered.

Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 MSSIP32.DLL" (w/o the quotes).
You should see a popup message that this process succeeded.

This can also happened if an installed program is intercepting the Windows
Update process.
Here's a knowledge base article with a list of some known programs:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;241234
For testing purposes you may try temporarily disabling any web
enhancement/accelerator/Antivirus programs before accessing the site.

Now try the Windows Update site and see if you get the same error.

Thanks,
Lucy [MS]

Try the following:

1. Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SOFTPUB.DLL"

(w/o the quotes). You should see a popup message that this process
succeeded.

2. Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\INITPKI.DLL"

(w/o the quotes). You should see a popup message that this process
succeeded.

3. Click on Start, Run and type "REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSSIP32.DLL"

(w/o the quotes). You should see a popup message that this process
succeeded.

4. Now try the Windows Update site and see if you get the same error.

Any change?
