Then order the CD from here
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx
You may well find it a less painful way to install SP2 than downloading from
the web site.
And don't forget, you will then have the 80-100 other updates to bring you
up to current status - therein lies another story.
Please try and reply with the post to which you reply included and start a
new line - if you don't then your reply appears as part of the previous
post - NEARLY MISSED IT.
And it would help if you addressed your reply to the person to whom you are
replying - minor points I know - just makes reading and understanding a post
easier.
I wish you all the best with your mammoth task.

You can use it also, not just for developers.

Pretend you *are* a developer.
It's not different.
It's just a full download for the entire Windows XP SP2 file.

Order Windows XP Service Pack 2 on CD

Truthfully - it doesn't MATTER if you are installing that to one PC or many.
It may have been INTENDED for someone who would push it out to many
computers in some archaic fashion - but it can be used by Joe User to
install SP2 on a stand-alone computer or to integrate into their
installation media so they have an updated (at least in terms of service
packs) Windows XP CD.
