And your Windows version is... (e.g., Vista; Vista SP1)?

Assuming Vista (SP1), see

Windows Vista Update 80244019
Follow steps to the letter
1. Download freeware Anti-Malware Remover from
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php (www.malewarebytes.org)

2. install,
3. run “simple scan”
4. Immediately after rebooting start “windows update” from the control panel . . . and upgrade to “Internet Explorer 8” upgrade via google.com search as well.

I do not anyone to suffer the three painfully laborious weeks it took me to figure this problem out.
And if you’re charging people to fix their computer TEACH your customers how to “untangle the mess” on their own as a form of educational-reinvestment.

Sorry, the malware is what caused the issue, not Microsoft.
In fact, they offer no-charge support for malware issues:

" No charge support
• Call 1-866-PCSafety or 1-866-727-2338

This phone number is for virus and other security-related support. It is
available 24 hours a day for the U.S. and Canada. For phone numbers
outside of the U.S. and Canada, select your region.
http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx?rdpath=4 "

So, what's the point of your nearly unintelligible post ?
