I use automatic updating and the update (Cumulative Security Update for
ActiveX Killbits for Windows Vista (KB973525) has failed 27 times on the
install. I tried downloading this update to my desktop from the Windows
Updates site and then manually run the install. It said that my system
doesn't need it.

I'm confused. Should I just ignore the continuous 'failed' 'failed' 'failed'
that keeps ocurring? I'm by no means a techie. So please bear with me.

I'm using Windows Vista Business SP1 - 32 bit operating system

Thank you all

See the "How to obtain help" section of
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973525

For home users, no-charge support is available by calling 1-866-PCSAFETY

your problem is related to a Security Update and cite the update's KB number

If your problem relates to a Cumulative Security Update for IE, call the
above number and ask to be transferred to the "Consumer IE queue" (which is
47830).

Or you can...

Start a free Windows Update support incident request:

For more information about how to contact your local Microsoft subsidiary
for security update support issues, visit the International Support Web
site: http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx

For enterprise customers, support for security updates is available through
your usual support contacts.

Thanks Bear. Called them but still no further ahead. I have 2 Laptops both
with the same operating system. I checked and the update was successful on
one of them so I'm checking to see what changes I made to the other one in
the last 2 weeks. Thanks again.
