Windows Update error 0x8007041D

Hi,

I'm new to this. Had to re-load all my software. Windows xp professional.
Now I am unable to download the new window update software. Did snooze my
antivirus and disable firewall, still getting the same error code. I also
did went through some of the other questions, however did not understand what
to do to solve this problem. If someone could please explain to my as simple
as possible.

Is NOD32 the installed antivirus ?

You receive a "0x8007041D" error when you visit the Windows Update Web site
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902322

If it is not, open the Windows Update.log located in the WINDOWS
directory (folder). Copy and paste the last 20-30 lines of the log into
your reply, please.

The errors in the log suggest -

Error: 80072EFD = ERROR_INTERNET_CANNOT_CONNECT
Translation: Cannot connect to the Internet server

There's a possibility that either a 3rd party firewall, anti-spyware program, web
accelerator, Internet security/antivirus program and/or a proxy server is interfering with
the Windows Update Services (SVCHOST) accessing the Internet.

Suggest adding the Windows Update website addresses to exceptions/allow list
http://*.update.microsoft.com
https://*.update.microsoft.com
http://download.windowsupdate.com

If that hasn't help, check that the Windows Update Service can connect to the Internet
through port 80 and port 443.

You may need to refer to the individual programs documentation for further instructions.

When accessing the Update site, you receive the 0x80072EE2 or 0x80072EFD error.
