upgrade to explorer 6.0 causing problems........

I hope someone here can help me - I'm running windows ME and I just recently upgraded to internet explorer 6.0 and my computer has been messing up ever since !! I need to "downgrade" I guess you would say back to the 5.5. I have tried to do this but keep getting the "newer version" message and it won't let me continue. Can anyone tell me how to go about doing this? Thanks!

Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel
Click Microsoft Internet explorer 6
Select "Restore the previous..."
Click OK and follow the prompts.
Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel
Click Microsoft Internet explorer 6
Select "Restore the previous..."
Click OK and follow the prompts.
