There is not enough disk space on C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$ to
install Service Pack 3. Setup requires a minimum of 4 additional megabytes of
free space or if you want to archive the files for uninstallation, Setup
requires 4 additional megabytes of free space. Free additional space on your
hard disk and then try again.
Since this is a clean install - I have to ask...
Start button --> RUN --> type in:
winver
--> Click OK.
What VERSION do you have currently?

Okay - let me be more specific...
The line in its entirety ;-) :
example:
Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp.######-#### : Service Pack #)
All fully released 32-bit Windows XP installations are Version 5.1, it's
realy the #'s you fill in above that will tell everyone where you are at
right now. ;-)

Figure you tried this (you mentioned Disk Cleanup)...
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949385
For grins - do that and additionally...
While in Disk Cleanup click the "More Options" tab and then, at the
bottom (System Restore) click Clean Up. This will remove all but the
last system restore point.
Reboot.
Download the SP3 IT executable and save it to your desktop and try
installing it from there.

Ended up being (or most likely will end up being):

Turns out the OP was running a Macintosh and BootCamp - so this seems the
most likely suspect. Another case of 'a little information left out means a
lot of guessing'... ;-)

No Problem. Glad you got it sorted out.
I have added the pertinent parts above for anyone who happens to Google with
a similar issue in the future.
Not too bad for a question asked less than two hours ago. ;-)

You *must* be running the latest, fully updated version of BootCamp to be
able to install WinXP SP3 on a Mac.
