I am unable to get any updates from windows when I go to update it
comes back there was an error and come back later. Another time said I
had to install the activex but it did not appear under the address bar
how do I install it if it does not show up under the address bar I can
not change the settings on my update options either Someone please
help me

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817144 - "Method 4" may help.
Look also in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive for any "(R1 1.5)" value in
