I recently restored my computer and now I can't download the updates. The
installation for Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 keeps failing and I don't
knoe what to do to fix it. Can anyone help? Pretty Please.

0x80070005 indicates a Permissions issue. If this is XP, then read this:

Maya,

Go to the following site:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/893803

And choose the download associated with you operating system. For example I
am using Windows XP so I scrolled down and chose "Download the 893803 (v2)
package now". That will will solve the problem.
