Try these tips.
Look closely on your system. See if you have any of these folders:

C:\Windows Update Setup Files

C:\Windows\Windows Update Setup Files

Please delete these folders if they are present.

Delete Temporary Internet Files.

Disable Antivirus and any other programs that could interfere with Windows Update.
Close your other running programs. Make sure you are not running an ad-blocker program.
Those do interfere with Windows Update. As can some firewall / security programs.

Try starting Windows Update from the main Windows start menus.
If still no go, click on this link https://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Please post back your results. Best of luck.

Is AOL your service provider? Then you must only use Internet Explorer to get Windows Updates.

DID you try the HTTPS link?
https://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com

If not, try it. If you did, attach a copy of a "snippet" at bottom of file --- for today-- from your
C:\Windows\Windows Update.log file

I went to the Windows Update troubleshooter and found out
how to fix it. I updated my files and now it works. Thanks
