Windows update continues to have Error Code 2B22 when attempting to install
this update. On another discussion board it was suggested to go to the SQL
site. Which I did yesterday. There i found the downloads for the express
service pack edition 2. It said to download another file first, so I
installed both. Update then showed computer was up to date. Few hours later
the update request came on again. It did install the security update this
morning fine. How do I get this update taken care of?

See the section "If you have a problem installing Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Express Edition SP2, you can try one of the following solutions" here:

The site you sent me to did not have anything about this error code. But thru
a few links I did find service pack 3 was just released.

So i downloaded service pack 3, which installed correctly, restarted twice.
and now the service pack 2 is still trying to update. Still receiving the
same code 2B22 when attempting to upload.

Aren't the service packs cumulative? So if I installed service pack 3 (just
released 2 days ago) why would it still be trying to do an update from 2
years ago?

This is so frustrating.

Since months my Toshiba laptop with Windows XP Pro is trying to install MS
SQL Server 2005 Express Service Pack 2 (KB 921896) without success. Non of
the several MS support pages could give me a solution. So every day this
update is downloaded but cannot be installed. How important is this update?
Will I have in future any problems if it hasn't been installed?
