have XP home SP2 on an HP PC. Automatic Update tries to install this update
(custom or express) both fail with some kind of permission problem. Then the
display becomes problematic as I think it removes or alters the existing
drivers.
I end up having to delete the display adaptor and then let it find it again
via plug and play. It then installs the old driver, presumably from an
existing file on my PC.
Problem is that the download is sitting waiting to be applied and keeps
trying to apply itself.
I need help! Either to get it to apply correctly or simply to remove a
pending update that has been downloaded but not applied.
