Windows update failure error code = 0x80240020

II have Windows XP and trying to use Windows update. It downloads the
update but does not install the updates. Need help on how to resolve
this. Below is the the info from the windowsupdate.log

Hi nichaly,

Open the registry editor and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Check for the existence of a Notify_Disabled subkey under Winlogon. If that
subkey exists, delete it.

Now, navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Not­ify
Check for the existence of a SensLogn subkey. If SensLogn does not exist,
you will need to add this missing key and its values. Copy/paste the
following, between but not including the two sets of asterisks, into Notepad
and then Save as a file named SensLogn.reg
NOTE: the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\......\Notify\SensLogn] line in this
post will wrap to two lines...it needs to be on one line in Notepad. Also,
ensure that you have the blank line at the end.

Once you have created and saved the SensLogn.reg file, double-click on it,
then click on Yes when asked if you want to merge the information into the
registry. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Dear Pattie,

I'm having the same problem. Can you email me your notepad copy of the following file please. I tried to create it and it is not working. Not sure if I have done some thing wrong. My email is bfd...@gmail.com. I am unable to use windows updates and in my registry I did not have the following. Please help.
