Error 80070103 for nVidia GeForce 9200

I have been trying to install a Windows Update for my video card. When I
try to play a game, a message comes up "Hardware acceleration is either
disabled or not supported by your video card driver, which could slow game
performance. Make sure you have the latest video card driver installed and
that hardware acceleration is turned on".
I went to the driver and found it disabled. I tried to enable it, but got a
message that there was a conflict. I'm not sure what to do with that
information - how to resolve a conflict. I went to Microsoft Windows website
a looked at conflicts with Windows Vista. There was no help there. It
doesn't even list nVidia GeForce 9200. It has other NVidia driver
information, but not the one I need. Is mine out of date? Could that be the
problem? So, I took a chance and downloaded one of the nVidia options given.
No luck. Apparently that doesn't work.
I was told (by a computer fix-it guy) to go to the website for nVidia and
download the right driver. I can't even find that information!
This is the only download that Windows blocks. At first I got an error
#80070005. I found someone on microsoft.com/communities who had instructions
to fix that problem. I followed them and that error went away. However, I
still have this other problem.
I don't want to delete this driver. I can't find the correct one as it is.
Why is Windows telling me to download this driver, but says it might be an
older version than the one I already have?
I'm soooooooooo confused and frustrated!!! Can anyone help?

First ... NEVER update a driver for hardware that is not causing any
issues. If it ain't broke, then don't fix it.
When Windows Update offers such a driver again in the future *right*
click it and choose Hide.
Now, let's go find a driver for the video display adapter:

" Before You Begin
If you have previously installed NVIDIA nTune, NVIDIA recommends that you
uninstall nTune before installing this driver. After the driver install is complete, you
can reinstall NVIDIA nTune.
Installation Instructions
1- Follow the instructions on the NVIDIA.com Web site driver download
page to locate the appropriate driver to download, based on your
hardware and operating system. ( which is

2- Click the driver download link.
3- The license agreement dialog box appears.
4 Click Accept if you accept the terms of the agreement, then either
open the file or save the file to your PC and open it later
NOTE: *SAVE* the file despite what it says above.
5 - Extract the zip files to a temporary folder on your PC.
6-Open the NVIDIA driver installation .EXE file to launch the NVIDIA InstallShield
Wizard.
**NOTE:** the files is already in the .EXE format, there is NO need to
extract it. Suggest you *right click* the downloaded file and choose
'Run as administrator'. Then enter a password, if one is used, or just
click Continue.
7-Follow the instructions in the NVIDIA InstallShield Wizard to complete the
installation.
Note: After the driver installation, Windows may default to 16‐bpp color and disable
the Desktop Window Manager (DWM). To work around this issue, set the color
to 32‐bpp and then reboot the PC. "

Desktop? Never download sound or video drivers from Windows Update. Always
go to the manufacturers website for your specific drivers. Here's the link.
