I'm one of those odd sorts that likes to keep good track
of what software is installed and from where. I want to
download the updates neccessary for my os, but I also
would like to have a copy of them archived (because I do a
lot of software testing/debugging I often am reinstalling
my boxes(it only takes minutes anyways)). Is there a way I
can download all the updates I need without having to
install them immediately, other than using the annoying
and sec admin's nightmare????(automatic update...ish!)
Any and all info about downloading from the Update site is
appreciated. Thank you for your attention.

As the update gets rolled up hill, the version might change and tweaks might
be done.
Consider just saving the Service Packs and the Combined Updates and then
still do the smaller updates online.
