Windows 7 can't install its updates or virtual pc

Everytime I try and use the "windows update" I get error "Code 8007371B".
Does anyone know what this means? Also not sure if its related but I think it
is, I have installed the xp virtual drive but when I try to install the xp
6.1 mirror image it asks to restart and then says its reconfiguring my system
but it always fails. Oh and I can't install the windows games through the
"turn windows features on and off" either. Anyone one know how to fix any of
this or all of this?
