INTERNET EXPLOER 6 UPDATE INSTALL HANGS AT 68%

Have tried many times over the past 6 months to install
the Internet Explorer 6 Service pack, a "critical" update
as listed on the Microsoft Windows Update page, but it
always hangs up at 68% & will go no further. What's the
problem!? And does this mean that I will NEVER be able to
update any future IE updates?!

Hmm... odd. Try downloading Serice Pack from this address
http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/expresso.asp
and then try and use windows update again and see what happens?
