Hi,

How can I disable all remote connected terminal server users to use the
internet explorer? My terminal server is windows 2000.

Any hint is welcomed.
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately it is impossible to disable IE 100%. The easiest way to
disable them from browsing out to the internet though is to either prevent
access through your firewall from the server or set the proxy settings to
localhost or some other bogus address on your network using GPO. then
disable access to that tab or IE control panel, again, using GPO.

Simplest way I've seen is to specify an invalid IP address for the
gateway/router.....

what happens if they the servers are on a different subnet than the clients?
You've just cut off communication.

I'll second Jeff's suggestion.

I might amend it slightly to also setting the homepage that IE users get
when they run it to something that explains what is going on, and why, so
you don't get constant requests to fix the system.

Oh, I like that idea. Never thought about that myself. I'm definately
adding that to my list of recommendations :)

I'd love to say I thought of it rather than learnt it via bitter experience
though!

I'm always surprised at "professionals" who STILL have to be asked "Have you
checked (event viewer / syslog)".

Is there some reason you are posting this as a reply to just about every
