I have installed the most recent PPTP Hot fix from Microsofts FTP site and
it completely disabled my system. We had NT 4.0 SP3 running fine with RAS
and PPTP enabled. Worked great!! Installed the Hot fix and all went
downhill. Some of the services will not start up, like the workstation. If
I remove the RAS service the server functions again(No ras though). Any
Ideas? I was thinking that maybe the PPTP update needed RRAS installed to
function. I went so far as to promote my BDC to PDC reinstall NT 4.0 as a
BDC in the server and when I install the RAS services form the network
panel, I lose some services again. AAGGHH.. I cant find anything on the
Support site on this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Lonnie

Try re-applying SP3.

why do you install a hotfix to a system that iss, in your own words, working
great ?
I even think Microsofts says NOT to do that unless you have the specific problem

that the hotfix is for.
