Problems Maintaining Network Connection with RRAS

G'Day everyone,
I have 2 x RRAS Servers conncting to each other
routing IP both service pack 6a. They are both maintaining a perminant
connection via a dial up connection (Netcomm 56k Modem). Now the modem will
stay connected indeffantly however after approx 3 - 4 hours the network
connection will cease to operate and nothing will be routed via the gateway
being the dialup connection. The only way to resolve this is to hang the
modem up and redial and the network connection will re establish itself. If
anyone has any ideas on this I would love to know. Thanks
