I am running NTWS 4.0 SP1 on a Compaq LTE 5300. For some reason,
the machine thinks it has a CD-ROM, I even have a CD-ROM symbol
on the MyMachine box.
Unfortunately I am getting errors in the Event Viewer:
Source: CDROM Event: 11 The driver detected a controller error on \Device\CdRom0
Source: CDROM Event: 7 The device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block.
Also, under the SCSI adapters, I have:
IDE CD-ROM (ATAPI 1.2)/Dual-channel PCI IDE Controller
(HD symbol) TOSHIBA MK2101MAN
(CD Symbol) <nothing>
Why is NT seeing a SCSI Hard Disk and a non-existant CD-ROM?
How can I get rid of it?
Anybody out there running NT 4.0 on Compaq LTE laptops?
