You may need to provide more information.

How would this device have originally obtained it's IP?
Does it have build in defaults?
Was it statically configured?
Do you know the subnet of the device's IP address?
Is this device currently in use?
Is it functioning as a router, switch, hub???

I took a quick look at Symbol Technologies' web site to see if they had
any manuals or specifications available that would provide some of this
information, but I didn't locate anything useful. If the information is
there, I just don't have the patience to dredge it up.

If it's a router and is actively in use as a router, then it's IP
address must exist in one or more route tables (e.g. other routers on
the segment).

According to IEEE, Symbol technologies was issued 00-A0-F8 as an OUI.
There's a reasonable chance that their network devices' MAC addresses
might begin with these octets, though there's no guarantee.

If you have managed switches, you can probably use their ARP tables to
ID the exact MAC address or at least narrow down the possibilities.

There are a number of tools available that will build MAC tables or you
could use NT's scripting to do so. However, it will be a very long
process, if you can't at least narrow the subnet.

If you have a promiscuous mode sniffer available, you might be able to
use that to track it down, especially if you can isolate the device from
the rest of the network for a short time.

Is there no serial management port on this device?
