Hello,
I’ve problem using dial-up coonections. The situation is this:
I’ve a NT server(PDC) which as DNS with ip address 192.168.255.1 in
subnet 255.255.255.0
I’ve anoother computer with NT Server which as SNA Server and RAS with
2 modems, this computer as the IP 192.168.255.3 and subnet
255.255.255.0
Both computers had only one NIC and they don’t have any gateway
defined.
My problem is when I try to connect from a notebook computer with W95,
I’m authenticated in the domain, I even can ping to my notebook ip
address and I can also ping to the PDC and the other server, all
answer me BUT….when I try to connect to a share I can’t!!!
I’m logged on as an administrator.
What could I do more???!!!!…
thanks in advance to all of you,
paulo jorge
What happens, when you try to connect (error messages, etc.)?
Can you ping all machines by name or just by IP?
How is your RAS Server configured?
I assume that it is accepting incoming TCP/IP connections.
Where does RAS Server get its IP pool?
Is it configured to route?
Is it configured to "Allow access to entire network"
You are logged onto the 95 system as a domain admin account? If you use
a different account to make the RAS connection than the one you care
actually logged onto 95 as, the RAS account is used only to validate the
RAS connection. When you attempt to connect to a resource, 95 (actually
Client for MS Network) uses your logon account.
Can you Find the PDC using Start button / Find / Computer?

It seems as netbios, is not being used over the IP connection.
Netbios is used to give you access to your internal networks.
Help!!!
You are most likely going to need to provide quite a bit more info on your
current setup and just what problem(s) you are having.
At a guess though, in Control Panel / Network / Remote Access Service /
Properties / <your modem> / Network / TCP/IP Settings, have your set
it to "Allow access to entire network"?
