Hello,

i am using MQSeries for Windows/NT and this MQSeries is using
TCP/IP to communicate with other MQSeries systems.

In the MQSeries log i saw that MQSeries get TCP/IP return code
10061 (X'274D'). What does this return code means and where is
this documented ??

Any response is appreciated, thanks and regards,
irwan aranya

I beleive that means that it can not talk to the remote host. I have
seen that error when using DB2 Client (DB2CAE) and 99.9% of the time the
correct network connectivity does not exist between the client and the
data base. This does assume that the server is up and running.

John,

Thanks for your response, yes, indeed there is no connection and
MQSeries on Windows can not talk to the remote host.
The question is what is the REASON, that is why i want to know the
meaning of the TCP/IP return code 10061. I think these codes must be
documented somewhere by Microsoft but i do not know where.

If Microsoft tcp/ip uses standard sockets API error codes, this means
'connection refused" , meaning the application to which you are trying to
connect is not Running on the remote server .

This code is not a MS return code but a TCP/IP return code. I have no idea
where they are. We have found that when ever we received a 10061 normally
we could not ping the remote host either. That is no physical path. I can
only assume that this is a "no response" from remote host error.

Manju,
