I have a laserjet (4MV) on the network and everytime a print job is sent to
it I get a message on the NT screen from the Messenger Service that tells
me the print job has finished printing. Is there a way to redirect the
output of this message or turn it off completely? It's quite annoying.

The printing notification can be turned off by adding a value to the
registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Providers

Using edit, choose 'Add value'. At the Value Name, type; NetPopup. Accept
"Data Type" as REG_DWORD and enter a data value of 0. Then reboot.
