I put 2 G3s running OS 8.5 on our NT 4.0 network... when setting up the
volumes I can't get the macs to see more than 1.99GB as NT warned. If
the data on the drives go beyond this the macs get pretty screwed up
when trying to access... My friend sent me this out of one of his
manuals:

---------------------------
There is an entry in the registry ( use regedit )
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES\System\CurrentControlSet\Services
\MacFile\Parameters\Volumes\<VolumeName>
in the line for properties=??????, add 262144 to that number and
reboot your NT
Also, your mac-piles must be running at least system 7.5
-----------------------------

I have no setting for properties in here... any help??

I think that with OS 8.1 or 8.5 you can see 4GB

This comes from TechNet Q120739 - enabling 4Gb volumes sizes. By default
Properties will be blank for 2Gb ( or more ) partition sizes. It will have a
value set by Nt if the partition is less than 2Gb.

Changing the value as described will set up for using 4Gb partition sizes -
but I haven't tried it for bigger so don't know what happens in that
circumstance.
