DFS Namespace and replication

Need to setup DFS - installation of DFS on all servers okay.

The confusing part is the folder that I wish to replicate. Do they
have to be new folders or can they be existing folders. When I tried
to add an existing folder structure to the DFS it changed the
security, removed the share and caused all kinds of problems.

Once DFS is installed, how do you go about getting the folder
structure setup under the namespace and replicated.

I have an existing DC (2k3 R2 sp2) with existing folder structure. I
need to incorporate a couple of folders into the namespace and then
replicate to one other server.

I thought I understood the procedure but once I got all installed and
then tried to create the namepaces and replication, I caused all kinds
of issues on the production server. (issues with the folders I added
to the namespace)

I just need some direction on the implementation.
