Got following message when I tried to play audio CD in WMP 9.0. The
instructions are inaccurate. The device is not available from the media
player "Tools/Options/Devices menu. In the computer Device Manager I did
uncheck the "Enable digital playback" checkbox. The enable digital playback
checkbox was not unchecked as the error message indicates. This did not
change the error message status or the players ability to play this audio
CD. How can I play this audio CD. This is a factory retail pressing and
not a home-made cd. Anyway I cannot play any audio cd's anymore. I did not
have any other multimedia devices installed. This is a fresh install of
O.S. WIN ME. Reformatted and partitioned (approximately two weeks ago). I
don't have Quicktime, Real Player, Winamp or any other multimedia installed
(DVD etc).
In desperation I installed Music Match and it is functioning normally-no
problem with playbck. I will try to give any other important information
you may need. Let me know what I need to do. I have been very happy with
the new MediaPlayer until now.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
