WME9 with VOB files?

Anyone who can help,
I just tried to encode a VOB file and am having some problems. It seems
to do the encoding just fine, however, it is only encoding about 2-3fps. It
is dropping the rest. I just formatted my machine again and only installed
Windows Media Encoder 9 Release Candidate, and Power DVD. Any insight to
how I can correct this problem?
