An Internal Application Error Has Occured?

I recently had trouble with a Trojan Horse virus, and Dell
support had me refer to a backup of the system from 10/02
in order to fix the problem. However, since the backup, I
haven't been able to use the Windows Media Player, stating
that an internal application error has occured. I even
downloaded the new 9 series Media Player anew, and the
same error message has come up. What might be wrong, and
how can I fix it?
