I have been having an ongoing problem ever since I upgraded to Windows Media
Player 10.

Video files that played without problem in WMP9 will play in WMP10 but, if I
pause the video, or if I start a new video, WMP10 will sometimes develop a
serious memory problem.

I'll open the Task Manager and select the Processes tab and wmplayer.exe
will be showing to be using 98% of the processor's time - any clues as to why
this might be happening?

Thanks so much,
Brad

After some song is played, the system using 1GB memory!!

It must be a bug.

What kind of videos using what video card with what version of that driver
on what version of XP?

I'm unaware of any issues on this front myself...
...given the prevalence of WMP, I'd think any leaks of this nature would
probably be unique to something on your system, as this is the first I've
heard of a memory leak potential along these lines. But there's not a lot
of repro information here, so ... ?

I should clarify - it is not only videos, whenever I play MP3s the same thing
happens

I usually run my WMP on my secondary monitor - but this really shouldn't be
an issue.

Regardless, here are my specs:
Windows XP Pro (version 2002) with SP2
Running on an AMD Athlon XP 1500+ 1.33 GHz with 512 MB of RAM

The video card is an ATI Radeon 7500 (Driver Version = 6.14.10.6462, Driver
Date = 3/23/2004)

Again, thanks for your help,
Brad

Does it happen with WMP on the primary monitor?
Does it happen with WAV or WMA files?
What kind of videos cause it?
