I am having a problem with the way that WMP is indexing tracks by artist
for some of my MP3s. As I understand it, WMP should recognize multiple
artist names in the "Artists" tag and index the track under each artist in
the Contents pane, Artist sub-tree. This works for me for most tracks,
but in some cases it does not. The following describes one example:
I have 4 albums by the band "Clandestine". The band members are the same
for all albums, except that one artist (Emily Dugas) is not on one of them
(she joined the band later). I also have 2 solo albums by members of the
band.
The following shows the albums. In parentheses following each album is
the value of the "Album Artist" (a.k.a "Orchestra or Band") tag. On the
following line is the value of the "Artist" tag. Of course, these tags
apply to the individual tracks, but the values are the same for every
track on each album.
The Ale is Dear (Clandestine)

The Haunting (Clandestine)
Clandestine;Jen Hamel;Emily Dugas;EJ Jones;Gregory McQueen
To Anybody At All (Clandestine)

Music From Home (Clandestine)

Fine Small Storm (Jen Hamel)

The Willow (EJ Jones)

Under the "Artists" sub-tree, the following artists and albums are shown.
Note that 3 of the Clandestine albums (The Haunting, Music From Home, To
Anybody At All) are missing from the sub-tree for the band and for all of
the artists except Emily Dugas (who was *only* involved with those missing
albums).

Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?
