I have been trying to Burn cd's on Media Player as I have done successfully
in the past. However, today where the CD Drive symbol is at the top of the
page, the words"Data disc" have appeared.
Although it shows burning as successful, and the track number is shown, the
CD does not play. Also, prior to Burning, instead of the number of minutes
available on the blank CD, it shows the amount of MB.
Can someone help in 'idiot proof' language please?
Below the Burn tab in media player 11 is a small dropdown menu.
Choose "Audio CD" from that menu to burn a CD compatible with
standalone hifi CD players. Then burn the disk/playlist again.
The Data CD is basically a collection of MP3 or WMA audio files which
can be played on a PC, or several newer CD or DVD players. It's
compressed much more than a regular audio CD, so you can fit several
hundred tracks on a Data CD, and up to about 20 max on a regular audio
CD.
