Setting is up from my laptop with Windows XP Professional SP3
with Windows Medial Player 11 works straightforward:
Open WMP>Tools>Options...
Library Tab
Configure Sharing...
Enable Share my media, click OK
It shows the TV, select the TV and set it to Allow, click OK
Click OK to close WMP
I can select the Laptop from the TV Home menu and
browse/select/view the shared media (there may be restrictions
in what medial types can be viewed).
The "home" computer is besides being Home Edition and Dutch
language pretty much the same as the Laptop (also wireless, to
the same router as the laptop, same Virusscanner, XP own
Firewall - wich seems to be automatically be configured
correct).
Doing the same steps as for the laptop seems to workout well on
the "home" PC, can select and allow the TV etc. Looks all fine.
But the TV does not see the "home" computer.
I tried the "home" computer wired to the router (like the TV),
tried to diable the IPSEC Service (as described in the WMP FAQ
on the Microsoft site), disabled the XP Firewall completely, all
no succes.
Does any one have more suggestions?
I found a DRM error mesage in the Windows Eventlog, decided to
Remove and Reinstall WMP 11, which solved the problem.
One hint was looking in: WMP>Help>About WMP>Technical Support
Information
This opens an information screen in Internet Explorer.
It should show a version number for "Indiv-version" (8th line
from top), before Reinstall of WMP 11 the version was blank.
After Reinstall WMP 11 it shows a number (in my case 2.8.0.1).
