how do you get the dvd player to work it says "This program needs a hardware
or software decoder to play DVDs"??????

The message you are seeing means exactly what it says. Namely to play a DVD
you need to have a decoder and the easiest way to do this is to install Win
Me compatible DVD playing software such as Cyberlink's PowerDVD. Win Me
doesn't include the necessary codec as this isn't free and each copy has to
be paid for, hence the need to install either a software or hardware
decoder.
