At the end of boot up, I get a pop-up stating "Task
Scheduler Service was not running. You can view the list
of missed tasks ... in Scheduled Tasks folder." Have
searched this NG - can't find answer that applies to me.
What is causing this? How to fix it?

I<want> to be notified of tasks that don't complete. The
question is why does the Task Scheduler Service stop
running? I reboot only once every few days which is the
only time I see this pop-up message. Does the Scheduler
stop running between boots and I just don't know it? I
review the log and see that indeed, tasks that I wanted to
run did not run. I need them to run. Or - is it just
telling me that the Scheduler Service wasn't running while
the reboot was occuring and thus those particular tasks
didn't execute <duh?>. If that's the case then, who cares
and what a stupid pop-up. Maybe I'm reading too much into
the pop-up message.

Lohnes,
When you "view the log", the events that did not run, was there an error
code?

Lohnes;

A task will not run simply because the computer is turned on.
You have to set the conditions in it's "properties" dialog.
If you want them to "always" run, check "wake the computer
to run this task" and clear all the other options.

Also, imo it wouldn't be logical to notify you every time a task
is missed because you'd then need to close the notification
windows. You are most likely to be present at the computer
and able to respond when windows is started.
