MS-IE Favorites Versus Netscape Bookmarks

I've been a Netscape user since the mid nineties, but have become
disenchanted with their browser since they've merged with AOL. I
would seriously consider switching to MS-IExplorer if only it had an
option for a Favorites format similar to Netscape's Bookmarks.

Netscape's "Edit Bookmarks" has a simple straight forward format where
every bookmark in a folder can all be displayed at the same time as a
full width line in a full screen window with an editable name followed
by user comments. And, it provides yet another space for comments in
the Properties dialog box of each bookmark. I've become very
dependent on being able to add comments after the bookmark names and
being able to view them all simultaneously within a folder.

MS-IExplorer 5.5 browser's "Organize Favorites" on the other hand
displays a small dialog box with a list of folders and favorite names
that can be edited, but provides no room for comments. And, no place
for comments in their Properties dialog box either.

I've amassed a pretty extensive set of Netscape folders and bookmarks
over the past 6 years. What happens to my long bookmark names tailed
with comments if they're imported into MS-IExplorer's Favorites?

Does anyone know whether the new MS-IExplorer 6.0 browser Favorites
provides anything like the format of Netscape's "Edit Bookmarks"
display or whether there's any hope of Microsoft ever doing so even as
an option to their standard format?

I also like Netscape's bookmarks but currently prefer using IE as my
browser. I have the netscape book mark file set as the home page for
both browsers. The only nuisance is that I have to use Netscape to
modify the boomark file and just use IE favorites for temporary
useage.

I do about the same thing as you except I just have the Netscape
Bookmark.htm file as my Home page in MS-IE, but not in Netscape. In
Netscape, I use the Bookmark tool bar icon directly to select a
bookmark or to edit the bookmarks.

I use Netscape Navigator for most of my browsing, because I regularly
add web pages to the bookmarks and don't want to have to copy & paste
the URL from MS-IE to Netscape and access the web page again in
Netscape so that I can bookmark it.

There are a few web sites that I frequently use that perform noticeably
better in MS-IE so I also store them in MS-IE's Favorites list for
easy access.
