I need to re-install Windows ME so that I can use my Windows XP upgrade, but
my disk is not working. Is there some way to get a download or disk to use
for this?

Disks usually don't stop working unless you smash them or gouge them with a
knife or similar so your problem could be a defective optical device in the
machine you are using to try and read the disk. Have you checked whether
you can read the disk using another PC? If the problem is that the PC won't
boot from the CD this is normal since unlike XP few Win Me disks are
bootable and you will need to boot the machine from a bootable floppy disk.
With a little more information perhaps someone will be able to help but in
the meantime I should perhaps just mention that there is no legal way to
download Win Me and about the only way nowadays of obtaining a disk is by
buying a copy from eBay or somewhere similar.
