A USB test program came with the HP, and when I run it, it
informs me that my drivers are Win 95, and that I should
update to Win ME for full USB support. I have never had
win 95 on my computer...
I cannot scan anything either. The scanner/digital camera
utility that is under the control panel (off of the "start"
button) gives me an error message when testing the
connection to the scanner.
All I get when I try to print from any program is a line or
two of code, and it spits outs several sheets of paper.
The strange thing is that it will successfully print out a
test page off of the HP utility window with no problem.
Is this a Driver issue with the USB ports? A hardware
issue with USB ports or Motherboard?
I've not yet called HP - I wanted to make sure I've checked
everything I can think of before doing so, but that will
come soon.
Thanks, Bill

What other cards are installed in your system? (Modem, NIC,Sound, etc.)?
What other USB devices, if any, are installed Separately?
Do they Work?
When you obtain the newest driver set from HP for your PSC system,
remove the drivers only by going into system >devices, printer (Or
multifunction devices) and click on your HP device and "remove" then
ok. - Disconnect PSC and restart. Next remove the USB Controller item
from the system controller. Then restart and redetect USB. Reconnect
the printer and install the new PSC driver instead of the original
ones supplied.
If all else fails you can perform "disk maintenance" (scandisk,
cleanup, defrag) as well.
