No sound on Moviemaker xp or Vista

A friend shot a short movie using his Sony Camcorder, and gave me the raw
file from his camera which was a 2 Gb .mpg file

I use MM with my Samsung digital camera.

I put his file in MM XP and the finished .wmv product had no sound. Same
thing when I did it on my Vista cpu.

What do I need to do to get sound? This must have something to do with
codecs etc.

Since you are running Vista and XP may I suggest you post details of the
problems you are having to a Vista newsgroup such as perhaps
microsoft.public.windows.vista.music_pictures_video where hopefully someone
will be able to help you.

This newsgroup is for those running the now discontinued Windows
Millennium operating system which included an earlier and much less
capable version of Moviemaker.
