I have two machines both with an Internet Keyboard Pro and IntelliMouse
Explorer and both machines are exhibiting some strange issues with Windows
ME and the above Keyboard and Mouse combination.

If anyone can suggest to me what is wrong I would be very gratefull.

Machine 1 :

CPU : Intel PIII-700Mhz
RAM : 256Mb PC100
HDD : 15.4Gb UDMA66
SOUND : SoundBlaster Live! Platinum (Non 5.1 Series)
VIDEO : Elsa Gladiac II MX (Geforce II MX)
M/B : Soyo 7VCA (Via based)

All latest drivers for above and clean install of Windows ME.

Issues : Some of the hot keys won't respond first time round and often need
to be pressed several times to invoke action. The keyboard is connected to
both PS/2 and USB, I have already tried just connecting either the PS/2 or
the USB to no avail. I have also tried the mouse on PS/2 or USB.

Machine 2 :

CPU : Intel PIII-700Mhz
RAM : 256Mb PC100
HDD : 20Gb UDMA66
SOUND : SoundBlaster Live! Player (Non 5.1 Series)
VIDEO : Hercules 3D Prophet II MX (Geforce II MX)
M/B : Abit SE6 (i815E based)

All latest drivers for above and clean install of Windows ME.

Issues : When hot keys are pressed there is a delay of anything up to10
seconds before action is invoked and OSD appears. When booted into the OS,
if I right click to invoke Context Menu, options that have a sub menu do not
appear unless clicked on, also the cursor does not blink until mouse is
moved, applications like Windows Media Player 7 when playing audio files
with Visualisations activated, there is no animation of the visualisation
until mouse is moved and I need to continuously do this to keep screen
"refreshing". Like Machine 1, I have the Keyboard connected to both PS/2 and
USB, and again any other connection doesn't resolve this problem. I have
also tried the mouse on PS/2 or USB.

To cure the above I reboot the machine and 9/10 times this works until again
I reboot and this symptom re-occurs.

Again thanks to anyone who can suggest anything that might cure the problem.
I have noticed that alot of people are having some problems with the
IntelliType V1.2 software, is this software 100% compatible with Windows ME
?

Thanks and kind regards,

Neil D Ferguson

Hi I have some of your prob's too. With win ME and the latest drivers for my
natural keyboard pro (hot keys ubs ports), and a IM Explorer. Very
occasionally I notice that some of the hot keys won't work, they do finally.
And that after the system has been in standby the tail light (on mouse)
won't come back on (when plugged into UBS). I think this has to do with the
drivers. I have posted here several times and have gotten no response. If
this is Microsoft's support strategy for their hardware, people should have
second thoughts about the X-box.

It's Intel based, not a Via. From Gateway. With Intel 440BX chipset.

IC, mine is also Intel based with an i815e.

Before you mentioned the tail light not working, I would have been none the
wiser, was only today I noticed that after suspend it wouldn't work unless I
moved the mouse to the PS/2 port.

As for my original post, MS UK have taken my full system spec and forwarded
it to a 2nd level Sofware Engineer in the US, who will hopefully have some
solution to my and other users problems.
