Yup, problem is that your CapsLock key is over-riding everything.

Hehehehe

Cap-lock does look a bit attractive don't you think so Mr Jennings.

Really do you know the problem or not Mr Jennings? because if you don't
please don't waste your precious time by reposting unnecessary comments.

Thank You anyway.

Actually, if you scan the NG Mr Moonwalker, you'll find that EZ CD Creator is
not really compatible with WinMe, despite what Roxio might tell you about it.

A better idea would be to download Nero from www.nero.com and use that instead.

As to wasting time with unnecessary postings, I guess you could always Block
Sender me if my posts bother you, as others have done, and as I have done to
others.

On the other hand, we could put up with each others idiosyncracies, and possibly
learn from each other.

I have been scanning this newsgroup for some time now, and I haven't
found anything to support this statement. I have purchased, and
installed version 5, and have found it to be more stable than it's
predecessor uncer Win 98.

People can have differing results with a piece of software depending
on how far they will go to stress their system. And they tend to blame
the application, rather than (historically) Windows' inability to cope
wiith the myriads of software installed on it. I have always been
conservative in piling on additional hardware and software.
Historically, I haven't been injured by moving onto the "bleeding
edge" with either hardware or software.

I'm not defending Roxio, or any other app vendor, nor am I blaming
Windows. There is just so much the developers can plan and allow for.

That's your idea of a better idea. If someone asked, which there
are a lot of, "which id the BEST cd burner S/w? Would you reply NERO,
without first asking what the asker wanted to do withthis software ?
By the same token, people should not ask the BEST question. If they
want a useful answer, the question should be re-stated to : "I want to
do ripping and audio CD creating. What would be the BEST software for
this application ? This is a BEST question that will derive the
quickest and most to-the-point answers.

OFF soap box.

That's my attempt at putting some sanity to all this.

Hi Staffan,

May I ask you how did you install the program in the first place.
What I want to know is there a possible reason some software is conflict with
Easy CD Creator 5.

---------------------------------------------------
Ezcd 5 can not be called a cd recording software
as it does not write Mode 1,
the single most standardized format ever created.
---------------------------------------------------

The following bugs are confirmed by the deafening no response from both
Adrian Miller and Mike Richter:

===================
From: Joe Pyles
Subject: Re: Problems in Track properties in EZCD5
Date: Thu, 01 Mar 2001

[ A Mode 1 Joliet disc is burned in XA mode. ]

(See any of Joe Pyles' posts for details.)

From: Joe Pyles
Subject: Re: Problems in Track properties in EZCD5
Date: Fri, 02 Mar 2001

I have also found that if you copy a data CD and then try to copy the
copy, the second copy is corrupt. I tested this on Nero 5.0.4.4 and
Easy Cd Creator 4.03, and this does not occur.

==================
From: (coaster)
Subject: EZCCCD 5 problems with multisession
Date: 27 Feb 2001

EZCD 5 can't correctly import multisession tracks made by other software
(mode 1 or mode2 XA, Joliet file system). This includes EZCD 3.5, EZCD
4.02e, and Prassi.

Sessions are imported as ISO-9660 format, losing all long-filenames and
basically, wrecks the disk.

Sessions made by Nero are either seen but not imported or not seen at
all.

CD Diagnostic shows that EZCD 5 seems to be having a lot of trouble
writing mode 1.

I have the Adaptec software installed on two computers running WinME and it
has been perfect. The majority of other people I know with CDR are using the
Adaptec software on WinMe without any problems.

I would suggest you have a look at the Roxio website for updates and also
their ASPI fix. The ASPI fix is due to a DLL Hell problem from memory.

David, tried to find the ASPI fix you referred to in your reply and only found

I am getting an "insufficient memory" error (Article Number990419-0007)

Which did not indicate a dll problem. I had the above error and inactivated
McAfee
which enable me to copy the CD I wanted. Did I miss something?

Thanks!

Well if you have McAfee or Norton installed you must expect problems. I
would immediately un-install them, and you will find your problems are
probably over.

Install the freeware for personal use InoculateIT. This is the only virus
program that gives no problems on WinME.
InoculateIT from Computer Associates International www.antivirus.cai.com
I still do not run a virus program resident, I run it on demand and have the
right click option in InoculateIT selected.

I will also e-mail you a MHT file which will open in Internet Explorer with
info.

Au Contraire Mr Jennings. I have EzCDC5 running on my WINME machine without
a single problem since day 1.

Au contraire. I have NU2001 and NAV2001 running on my WINME machine since
they were released without problems. I also now have EzCDC5 running on said
machine without problems.

I have Norton Systemworks 2000 (not even the latest) and still my
EasyCD 5 runs flawlessly. I have NAV protection enabled with e-mail
protection on. I also run Cleansweep/Internet sweep on and loaded at
startup.

I'm running the "upgrade version" (shipped with only CD &
documentation), purchased from Roxio direct. After completely
uninstalling all components of Easy CD Creator 4, EZCDC5 is working
flawlessly with WinME.

Given Feverish's lack of response, I'd suspect that he also is running the shelf
copy, as it would seem that the vast majority of users having problems with the
software are those with the bundled version, which Roxio themselves admit they
aren't going to support. Glad some of you are getting good use out of the
software!
