Jornada 820 Parallel Printer Cable

Has anyone tried this HP cable yet? How did it work? Thanks.

I have with an Epson Photo 700 with no success.
You need an HP Printer.

The documentation says the printer has to be a
PCL 3-or-better printer. The Jornada itself won't
drive any other language-based printer. Since
PCL is HP Printer Control Language, this pretty
much limits you to HP printers. The list of supported
printers with the cable docs is all HP, of course.

I went out and purchased an HP 340CBi for the
Jornada, and it works beautifully. Generally, I
try to buy computers and printers at the same
time, stock up the carts and cables, pack 'em
into the same case, and keep 'em together
through the life of the pair. The 340 is a very
good match for the Jornada, and runs on
batteries and IR also, very very well. You can
plunk the Jornada and the printer down on a
table top with no cables of any kind and print
out whatever you want in color. Good res, too.

PS: Too bad about the 700. That's an awesome
printer. Have you tried the Epson photo paper
with it yet, in high res mode? Amazing output.
