I also have some .wav files on my computer that I would like to convert to mp3's but I can not figure out how. The closest I have come is to make an "audio" CD from the .wav files then rip them back. It seems odd to me to do a two step process like this. Is there anyway to take .wav files and convert to .mp3's directly?
Connect the Roxio Video Capture USB device to a USB 2.0 port on your computer. An optional USB extension cord is included. Connect the Roxio adapter to the capture device. Connect the audio player to the large two-prong plug using the cables supplied with your player. (The cables needed to connect your audio system to the Roxio adaptor are not included with Easy VHS to DVD.)

This typically occurs when your VCR is not properly hooked up to the Roxio Video Capture device. If you are using RCA cables to connect your VCR to the Roxio Video Capture device, make sure the cables are connected to the correct jacks on both your VCR and your Roxio Video Capture device with the matching colors. The yellow RCA composite cable for video should be connected to the yellow RCA video output jack on your VCR and the yellow RCA video input jack on your Roxio Video Capture device. Similarly, the red and white audio RCA composite audio cables should be connected to the red and white audio output jacks on your VCR and the red and white audio input jack on your Roxio Video Capture device.
Distorted audio when capturing from VHS to the computer and/or DVD can be caused by a number of factors. The audio could have been distorted at the time it was recorded to VHS. In other cases, it can happen because the recording input levels are set too high in the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD settings.
so I was using Roxio Creator NXT to burn my audio .FLAC files to CDR >Real Audio to play on my home stereo
and had been getting an error message lately with some .FLAC files
"the following files could not be added to the project"
"this is NOT a valid supported music file"
"This is not a valid or supported music file. The following audio file formats are supported:
aac, ac3, flac, mp3, ogg, wav, wma, mpga, cda, m3u, wpl, asx"
^ ^ [WTF?? they are .FLAC files Roxio!]
I had had no problems burning .FLAC files to CDR>real audio with this program before with 'normalize' audio option until recently
and the .FLAC files work/sound fine when I play them on my computer headphones/speakers but I can not burn them to CDR
but then sometimes the software does not recognize all .FLAC file types
when the Roxio Creator NXT software did work and burned the .FLAC and or converted .WAV files to CDR; the playback on my home stereo system was totally bad quality, with crackles, distortion and pops over the music [its NOT my home stereo system, CD player, or speakers because other CDs play and sound fine] and I tried the burned CDRs on other stereos car, portable etc... and the crackles, distortion and pops were still audible there
I am getting very frustrated and wasting a lot of money on blank CDRs that were ruined I had to throw away
this is the 3rd version of Roxio Creator software I have purchased over the years and there is always something wrong with it
^ ^ is this possibly why I was getting the distortion, crackle , and pop noises over the music previously when I burned .FLAC files to CDR in 'normalize audio ' mode with Roxio Creator NXT? > the .FLAC files were possible in 16 bit/48 and NOT resampled to 16/44
