I have just installed Plataform Builder for windows CE 5.0, and realized I
have no BSP for Intel PXA255. Can I download it and use with this platform
builder? I could not find a download for that!! In this case, will I be able
to compile C# applications for .NET compact framework V2.0? (I want to use
the brand new system.io.ports)

Thanks

Contact Intel for support for their board.

Microsoft/Intel provide the MainStone II BSP for V5.0. Microsoft does not
provide a V5.0 BSP for any system with the PXA255 in it. They do provide a
number of libraries and support code for the 255 but not a full BSP. Intel
needs to provide that for the boards they want to support Windows CE on.

OK...

And what about the possibility to use .NET compact framework v2.0 there?
I have installed the PlatBuilder for CE 5.0 and I only see .NET CF 1.x

Maybe you need to be more clear on what you want to do. What does the BSP
have to do with CF 2.0? Do you want to develop a Windows CE 5.0 OS Image
for a PXA255 device?

If so, you may want to contact Steve's company for BSP assistance.

If you want a board that is already running CE 5.0 you may want to contact
us :-)

.NET CF V2.0 is not part of PB as it's not yet a released product. Some time
after it releases there will likely be an update to PB that includes CF
V2.0. Check out the .NET CF newsgroups for how people are getting the CF
onto V5.0 devices at this time.

Hmmm, I think thanks Bruce for the recommendation. But Bruce conveniently
left out that we also have boards running Windows CE V5.0 ;-). They are
using the Freescale i.MXL (ARM920T core) and not the PXA255 (Which is also
an ARM core CPU)

But since you already acquired the hardware that's not something you think
you need. See my other posts for your options.

Yes, I want to build an image and get Wince 5.0 running on the board. I don't
want to develop nothing for this.

What I want to develop is an application for this board, over .net cf 2.0

So my image must contain the wince5.0 and the .net cf 2.0

Having the BSP from Intel, will I be able to do it? I installed wince 5.0 PB
and did not find the .net cf 2.0!!!
