I have downloaded the update and upon installation it indicated that I don't
have Windows Embedded CE R2 installed. I have been using R2 for the last 18
months so I know that it is installed for both the ARM and x86 CPU's

I have also confirmed the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 is installed by checking
Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.

I re-installed R2 without any problems. I rebooted after the install and
brought up my project workspace as I have done before.

Once I try to install R3, it won't go pass the R2 check. It just bails out
of the install program with the error that R2 is not installed and at least
1 CPU must be installed.

I met the same problem.
My solution is to remove whole installation of R2 and then re-instal
it again.
Now the R3 is installing gracefully .

I uninstalled and tried to install R2 with the same issue for the R2
installation:
Once I try to install R2, it won't go pass the initial check. It just bails
out
of the install program with the error that 6.0 is not installed and at least
1 CPU must be installed.
I reinstalled SP1 and then tried the procees again - no such luck. It looks
like I might have to do a complete reinstall of 6.0, SP1, R2 and hopefully R3.

Hi Tom

It seems you Platform Builder install is corrupted...
Are you running Vista/Win7? If yes, did you install things starting
installers in admin mode for QFEs and R2/R3?
I had this issue once when playing with R2 and didn't really have time to
enquire and reinstalled everything (PB, PB update for Vista, R2...).
