Hi,
I've worked on WinCE6.0 for a long period, and there're lots of updating
packages in my disk, such as:
WinCEPB60-061231-Product-Update-Rollup-Armv4I.msi
WinCEPB60-071231-Product-Update-Rollup-Armv4I.msi
WinCEPB60-081231-Product-Update-Rollup-Armv4I.msi
WinCEPB60-R2-Update-Rollup-Armv4I.msi
WinCEPB60-090131-2009M01-Armv4I.msi
WinCE6.0 R2
...

If I want to install a new developing environment on another PC, need I
reinstall all these packages one by one? and do they require a fixed
sequence for this new installation?

Best Wishes,
Jack Zhao

you actually need the latest rollup (and of-course the service packs). I
grabbed this from a earlier post about the installation order.

1. Visual Studio 2005
2. Visual Studio 2005 SP1
3. Visual Studio 2005 SP1 Update for Vista (if applicable)
4. Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Platform Builder
5. Windows Embedded CE 6.0 SP1 (required if PB 6.0 Tools have been
installed)
6. Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2
7. Windows Embedded CE 6.0 yearly Cumulative Product Update Rollup (the
latest one), which is in this case: Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Platform
Builder - Cumulative Product Update Rollup Package (through 12/31/2008)

8. all other monthly QFE's

To automate the installation of the QFE's we've created a tool to do
this for you called QFEInstaller :-). You can find it here:

Good luck,

I have installed all the package above in the right order, but when I try to
install the WinCEPB60-081231-Product-Update-Rollup-Armv4I.msi i get the error
"The target processor (Armv4I) is not installed."
Have you an idea about this behaviour?
thanks

Did you install Platform Builder support for ARM? You need to select it
in the initial installation wizard. If you did but it doesn't work then
you may have some conflict with a previous version of Platform Builder.
If you have uninstalled all previous versions of Platform Builder before
the 6.0 install you may have some registry remains that are conflicting.
I'd uninstall everything again (sorry), then check the registry for any
values and keys dealing with Platform Builder or Windows CE and
reinstall 6.0 in the order listed by Erwin.

Good luck,
