You should adapt the default RNDIS inf files for your device's USB id's
(VID/PID).

See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb500930.aspx

Good luck,

Hi Michel Verhagen,

Thank You for your reply.

We are using Windows-XP host and from MS documentation my understanding is
that by default Rndis driver is supplied.

We are using USB Rndis to download the Nk.bin using PB and there after to
bring up Kitl connection over USB Rndis.(we are using CE 6.0)

For this, I have copied USB Function folder from MainstoneIII BSP to our BSP
and modified PDD as USBD Controller is different from MainstoneIII USBDevice
Controller.

After USB Plug-In, Device Manger displays as a unknown device, when I go
through Device Properties Details it shows as VID and PID as 0000.

Is this because of Windows-XP unable to load the driver ?

For serial downlaod Windows uses wceusbsh.sys, similarly which driver is
loaded by Windows XP for USB Rndis CE Device.

I have downloaded Rndis USB Kit at the link given by you. The \Drivers
folder contains x86chk and x86fre which of them we have to use and how to use
them ?

Please Clarify.

Sudheer

Hi ,

Now, we are able to see Vendor Id as 0x045E and PID as 0x0301 when we
connect Windows CE 6.0 device to Host.

In device Mangaer It shows as USB Device with exclamatory mark under Other
Deivces.

Please tell us how to load the driver for it on Windows XP.

Sudheer

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Ya i loaded the driver by renaming it only. But those drivers are for
Windows 2000. But in XP SP2 they provided built in RNDIS drivers (
rndismpx.sys usb8023x.sys) . So i tried to load it also using that Windows CE
provided inf file. But im not able to succeed.

Driver is installed but the yellow exclamation mark is ther. When i connect
the board which has bootloader with RNDIS support, USB not recognized
warning is coming.

Now the problem is loading the driver in Windows XP SP2 machine. Have you
installed successfully.

kumar
