Hi,

I'm searching for a way to receive SMS messages on a Pocket PC 2002 device
with a wireless modem/phone.

I'm interested in receiving the messages also while the device is connected.

Can any one help ?

I saw that there is a CellCore.lib and SMS.lib in the Pocket PC 2002 SDK
directory, but couldn't find any documentation on how to use them.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Yaniv.

SMS and cellcore libraries are for pocket pc phone edition devices only -
those with built in wireless hardware, for connection to separate phone
you'll need third party software, try pocketgear or handango.

Is it possible to somehow install the PocketPC 2002 phone edition on an iPaq
with a GPRS modem for example ? What are the differences between the Phone
Edition and the Non-Phone Edition ?

I saw that to access the SMS I can connect to the relevant COM port of the
modem and issue AT commands. It should work both with Phones and hardware.
But this wouldn't work when connected because the port is used by windows.

Is there a way to go through the windows connection and access those AT
commands somehow ?

What if my device have installed a GPRS modem with SMS support ? Then can I
get the SMS libraries from the phone edition to work on a standard Pocket PC
device ?

BTW: I saw there is cellcore.lib/.h in the SDK, and cellcore.dll on the
device also in Pocket PC 2002. Only the SMS stuff was missing (actually the
.h was there, but the .lib wasn't).
